Children cause problems when they don't meet expectations – in terms of their genes, their development and their behaviour. The topic “Problem Children?” of the spring 2015 edition of SPECTRUM is therefore ambivalent, hence the question mark. After all, the problem often lies with the excessive expectations of parents, teachers and a society with innovative information technologies that can overburden even the most developmentally normal children. ADHD and DMDD are diagnoses that may be associated with exaggerated expectations as much as with the sensory overload found in the modern world. With the choice of the cheeky girl for the cover picture of “Problem Children?” we were playing up the amusing nature of the photo: things aren't so bad after all! But that was before the latest fashionable diagnoses from the American Psychiatric Association (APA): “disruptive mood dysregulation Disorder” (DMDD) as well as severe and recurrent verbal and/or behavioral fits of rage.
With her case of a highly gifted and extremely angry Lanthanide girl, Resie Moonen raises the issue of whether such diagnoses can be justified. Further contributions from Paresh Varsani, Dinesh Chauhan, Wyka Feige and others show how frequently parents these days seek homeopathic help for their children due to fits of anger and aggression. Fungi are overwhelmingly hidden – under the earth or inside other organisms. With their caps, tubes, and bulbs, they show us at the most their organs of reproduction. In homeopathy too, there are only a few visible representatives of this natural kingdom. Situated somewhere between plants and animals, the fungi are difficult to classify. Yet their effect on people is very interesting, whether as gut symbiont or agent of disease, as intoxicant or drug, as food or poison. This spectrum of action promises a wide range of homeopathic applications, which have so far been greatly underutilized. With new remedy provings, miasmatic connections and interesting case histories, our group of international authors will describe the magical kingdom of Agaricus, Bovista and Secale in homeopathic terms – from simple yeasts and lichen to the massive organisms of the higher fungi. The articles as a whole illustrate this complex natural kingdom. With this issue SPECTRUM presents a further, especially fascinating chapter of its modern, living materia medica.

An estimated 50,000 – 100,000 people fall ill with the infection known as Lyme disease every year in Germany, making it one of the most common bacterial infections. Although standard antibiotic treatment is successful in approximately 80 % of cases, there are still 10,000 – 20,000 treatment-resistant cases each year. Especially in such cases and particularly when the disease is advanced, homeopathy constitutes an important additional treatment option. Although the remedy should be selected according to the individual and characteristic symptoms of the patient, there are nevertheless certain typical remedies and remedy families that are frequently indicated. Numerous case studies in this issue demonstrate how to homeopathically treat the different stages of borreliosis.

e-book Spectrum
having subscribed to Spectrum consistently since its launch its become a very important and informative journal for viewing a window into contemporary and classical methodologies of many experienced Homeopaths from all areas of practice. Its wonderful to be able to access the e-book version especially at this time of a global crisis but I'd much prefer the hard copy to be able to turn pages manually as is so much easier to review the articles and hidden gems of information. Some Very Helpful Perspectives
I found this book gave me a lot of different insights to use in my practice in addition to a lot of studying I have done on covid the last few years. i was somewhat shocked that the one homeopath contributor did get the vx, but everyone has to do what they feel is right for them. I learned a lot about Picric acid that I didn't know - now have some on hand. Thanks for putting together this informative book. read more ...

eine sehr informative Zeitschrift!
Seit Jahren lese ich regelmäßig das Spektrum, ich halte es für eine äußerst hilfreiche Informationsquelle für jeden Homöopathen.
In dieser Ausgabe allerdings fehlte mir ein bißchen der Zusammenhang, z.B. eine grundlegende Erklärung, wann und warum überhaupt Edelsteine als hom.Mittel infrage kommen, welche Steine geprüft sind und welche Grundthemen zugrunde liegen. read more ...
